The interventional radiologists feel, after reviewing the CT films, that they will be able to obtain a better tissue sample for the pathologists to evaluate.

It is neither good nor bad that the site has changed.  If anything I guess it could be considered ‘good’ because the radiologists feel they will get a better tissue sample by doing the biopsy on the right lung junk.  Hopefully the pathologists will receive an adequate tissue sample and be able to make a cellular/tissue diagnosis.

After assessing Mom’s Chest/Ltd abdomen CT, the interventional radiologists have decided not to biopsy the adrenal mass and instead will perform a CT-guided fine-needle biopsy on the junk in her Right Lung.

1. No crying; 2. No sad eyes; 3. No making Ted or Suzi cry. You may tell anyone you choose. Prayers are allowed. Please try not to call. emails ok.

Mom said today that everyone should know her condition has deteriorated (her word) rapidly.  It has.  She has lost weight, has severe fatigue, has labored breathing with any activity.  She has been emailing a lot more today, so that’s cool.  She asks that no one call, please.  She is accepting prayers.  This has all happened very quickly and we are all in shock, to put it mildly.

Thank you all for being good friends to my Mom, you are really important to her and her family 😉

Okay, appointments have now been set for the biopsy and next dr. visit.  The CT-guided fine-needle biopsy of the large mass on her right adrenal gland will be Wednesday 11 January 2012 at 10:30 a.m. PT.

Mom will have MRI of brain and appointment with Dr. Brett Tuesday 17  January 2012 to go over the biopsy results, mri results, and go over other issues.

Mom is very fatigued.  She is not eating or drink much.  She continues with pain in her spine (bony mets to spine with several vertebral compression fractures).  The pain med (Tramadol) tends to make her vomit.

We appreciate all positive energy, prayers or whatever sent in her direction.

The needle biopsy of Mom’s right adrenal mass has not been scheduled.  The images need to be evaluated before they can proceed.  Most likely it will occur sometime next week.  Mom needs a rest, the drive to and fro is rough on her right now.
